复旦附中国际部故事妈妈志愿团引领生命教育

在复旦附中国际部小学部,活跃着一支“故事妈妈”志愿者团队。非常感谢学校一如既往的大力支持,自2015年春至今,“故事妈妈”由一开始的一位、三位,陆续壮大到今天超过二十位横跨各年级的爸爸妈妈们。他们热情地贡献自己的爱心,同时不断学习和提升自己。

In FDIS, there is an active volunteer team of story-moms. Thanks to the school's continuously strong support, the story-moms group has grown from a few members at the beginning in 2015, to more than 20 members across all grades today. All the parents enthusiastically contribute their love, and keep learning and improving themselves.

“故事妈妈”致力于推广和实践生命教育理念。以故事课堂为载体,将教育聚焦到个体生命的自我认知、人际互动、人与环境、以及自身存在的价值与意义。帮助孩子建立坚实的自我,更好地实现和超越自己!

Story-mom is committed to promoting and practicing the concept of life education. Using stories as the carrier, we focus life education on several aspects: self-cognition, interpersonal interaction, human vs. environment, and the value and significance of one's own existence. We hope to help our children to build solid selves, and to better realize and surpass themselves!

随着疫情的控制,这个学期,“故事妈妈”团队在学校疫情防控的管理下有序进班,为每个班级带来了三本绘本。相信许多家长都从孩子那里得到过反馈,知道他们看到“故事妈妈”重返校园是多么兴奋。事实上,所有的故事爸爸妈妈也与孩子们一样激动,相隔许久,再次见到可爱的孩子们,真的很幸福!

This semester, the story-mom team re-entered the classes under the management of school’s epidemic prevention and control, and brought three wonderful stories to each class. Many parents may have heard from their children and know how excited kids are to see story-moms again. In fact, all the story-moms and dads are just as thrilled. It is just wonderful to see our lovely children again.

Here, we warmly welcome more parents to join the story-mom team, so that all the children of FDIS can benefit from life education! If you are interested in joining or want to know more about story-moms, please contact your Chinese teacher or representative of the Parents Committee as soon as possible. 故事爸爸妈妈心语

你怎么能把一份志愿者工作做这么长时间?同一个故事讲了一遍又一遍?这是我时常会听到的问题。是的,这是我第七年给一年级的孩子们讲故事。有些绘本我讲过十多次了。然而,每一次进班,我都不是之前的我,学生也不同了,一起备课的妈妈们也不一样了,我们诠释故事的方法也可能有不同。太多的欢乐和收获,我享受每一次的进班讲故事。

How can you do the volunteer job for such a long time, and tell the same story again and again? This is a FAQ on the list for me. Yes, this is the seventh year I will tell this story in Grade One. Some picture books I shared more than ten times. However, every time, I am different; the students are different; the moms are different; and our ways to deliver the class may be different, too. There is a lot of fun and learning as a story mom. I have to say I really enjoy it!

时间飞快,今年已经是我做故事妈妈的第四个年头了。记得第一次进的班级是施老师当时带领的二年级非母语班。虽然因为疫情有近一年多的时间未能进班,可是故事妈妈团队在此期间也没有中断过备课和讨论。时隔一年,前不久再次进班时,突然意识到孩子们都已经在毕业年级了,还有几位同学已经回国了。但是,孩子们对于听故事的热情没有减少半分,我们还是一个温暖的小家庭。目前我所在的班级一共有七位同学,其中各有两位日本同学、两位韩国同学,还有一位印度同学,其他是来自欧美国家的同学。

记得当初我第一次进班时都还是稚嫩可爱的小脸庞,听听故事就会冒出几句英文;现在的他们虽然还有不熟悉的词汇,但已经可以通过观察每一页画面说出详细的内容,甚至自如地讨论故事的背景和主题。因为人数不多,有时我们会走出教室到图书室或是在校园找一个温馨的角落围坐在一起翻看绘本。同学们不仅喜欢听和说的练习,还尤其喜爱唱歌!在欢声笑语中每一个故事都会让同学们感受到温暖和做人的道理,尤其是读绘本后的延伸活动同学们都会积极地参与。课后,范老师总是会帮我补充和总结要点。同学们那专心听讲的面孔是我做好故事妈妈的最大动力!

这学期还有幸进入了二年级的母语班讲故事,孩子们热情又积极的态度让我几乎忘记了时间。每次的大小备课我都有收获,而进班后的归途中总是觉得特别充实。期待着在新学期里会有更多的故事爸爸和故事妈妈会加入到团队来!谢谢每一位同学和老师对我的信任!

It has been the fourth year since I started acting as a Story Mama, of which the first time was in Ms. Scarlett’s Grade 2 CFL Class. Although we couldn’t go to school for over one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Story Mama team didn’t stop preparing lessons and discussing. When I was able to see the class again at the end of this May after a long interval, I suddenly realized the class was already in the highest grade, and several students had gone back to their countries. What hasn’t changed, however, is the children’s passion to listen to stories, and we are still a warm family. There are now seven students in our class, two from Korea and Japan respectively, one from India, and the other two from western countries.

I remember clearly they were very little right at the beginning of our class and still needed to use English in class, but they are now able to describe the contents of each page and even discuss about the background and theme of the story. With the small number of members, we sometimes go to the library or just find a nice corner in the campus to listen to the story, sitting around. The students like to practice speaking and listening, and also enjoy singing a lot. Meanwhile, Ms. Fancy always helps with extra information and summary. I can find each story with love has touched each little heart!

There are also many good stories for next semester and I look forward to having more and more Story Mama and Papa join our team, and I do appreciate for the trust from each teacher and student!

本学期的第一次进班,距上一次时隔一年。孩子们再次见到故事妈妈都好热情啊!疫情和隔离并没有拉开故事妈妈与孩子们之间的距离;相反,他们都长大了,听故事也更加投入,有了更多自己的想法和见解。我在讲故事的时候,看到孩子们闪亮且渴慕的眼睛,听到他们热烈的讨论,感觉到辛苦的备课和付出都是值得的。

加入故事妈妈团队至今,生命教育课程对我自己也是一个接受再教育的过程。无论是对身为母亲的自己,还是对孩子们的家庭教育都有很大的帮助。故事妈妈团队通过优秀的绘本故事启发每一个人更好地认识自己,欣赏自己,尊重他人,关爱环境,让每个人成为有良好素养的社会公民。我很开心自己能够成为故事妈妈团队中的一员,用生命教育的理念和优秀的绘本故事帮助孩子们活出更好的自己,用自信乐观的生活态度创造幸福的人生。

The pandemic changed a lot of things for many of us. It has been a year since the last time I read the children a story at school. I couldn't wait to continue my story-mom's journey and to be with the kids. As far as I can tell, the children were also excited when they saw me walking into classroom for the first time this year. Compared to last year, they all grew up. They could think deeper, and had more of their own opinions to share during story time.

It takes time and effort to prepare the story, but when I saw kids' smiling faces and shining bright eyes, I know all the efforts are worthwhile. Story mom's goal is to inspire each student to appreciate life, improve self-awareness, respect others, and care for the environment through reading excellent picture books and stories. I agree with its value and feel proud to be a member of them. We hope the concept of life education can help the children to be more confident and optimistic, and live a better life.

疫情之后时隔一年,再次走入校园。长长的走廊里传来孩子们上课的声音,操场上阳光明媚,小小花园春花怒放。菁菁校园,一切那么美好。带着绘本《石头汤》,我为五年级的孩子们讲述了一个关于分享与幸福的故事。孩子们对于戒备与信任、不安与慷慨、童真与怀疑、仓皇与希望等话题的思考,超出了我的预期。面对适逢毕业季的他们,在延伸活动中,我邀请他们回顾了小学期间与伙伴们有关分享的瞬间。孩子们认真思索之后,用这些小确幸也“煮”了一锅美美的汤。看着孩子们明亮的眼神,会意的微笑,我相信,这也为他们在FDIS小学部的五年留下一个温暖的纪念。

It has been over a year since I last stepped foot on the campus before the pandemic outbreak. Once again, I saw the long corridor echoed children’s reading, the playground bathed in sunshine and the spring flowers blossomed in the small garden. I shared the story of Stone Soup with the fifth graders, a story about sharing and happiness. My young listeners’ profound thinking on the topics of vigilance and trust, uneasiness and generosity, innocence and doubt, haste and hope exceeded way beyond my expectation. I invited these soon-to-be middle school students to reflect on the moments of sharing with classmates and cook a pot of tasty “stone soup” with those happy memories. Enlightened by kids’ bright eyes and thoughtful smiles, I knew this class would add another piece of warm memento for their unforgettable 5 years at FDIS primary school.

因为一年级错过了几次机会,后来又遇到疫情,本学期是故事妈妈第一次进班讲故事,所以我一下报了2次。第一次进班真的会紧张,做了很多的准备。但是还没到教室,孩子们就冲过来热情地抱着我喊:故事妈妈来啦!让我一下子就安下心来!课上孩子们跟随故事节奏,一直在观察、思考、提问,也积极参与游戏和延伸活动。今天是第二次进班,不那么紧张了,和孩子们配合得也更好了!

很感谢故事妈妈团队,让我有这样的机会和孩子们亲近,也感谢我们的孩子们,用极大的爱心和耐心包容我,鼓励我,支持我!和孩子们在一起,真的很开心!下学期继续!

I have missed two chances in Grade 1 and then COVID-19 came. So it was my first time to enter the classroom to be a Story Mama this April. I was really quite nervous then and made a lot of preparations. But on that day kids ran to me once they saw me and hugged me, I settled down easily. In class, all the kids were devoted, listened to the story, observed and asked questions. They also took part in extended activities proactively. I acted as Story Mama the second time in May. I was not as nervous as the first time and had even better cooperation with the class.

I really appreciated the chance to be deeply involved in the kids’ class thanks to the Story Mama group. I am also grateful to our kids to accept, encourage and support me with their love and patience. I really enjoyed every moment to be together with them!

2020年疫情后,经过培训、参加大备课、小备课等,我终于如愿以偿加入故事妈妈团队。感谢前辈们的帮助和鼓励,她们让我感受到故事妈妈这个角色不仅仅对于孩子而且对于我自己的价值和意义。我的收获不只是被孩子围着的幸福感,更多的收获是每次团队备课对生命教育的讨论,还有进班与小朋友的互动,使我获得自我成长和提升,我进一步懂得如何和孩子一起平等沟通,一起认识生命的价值,和他们一起共同成长。

I am very glad that I had a chance to become a Story Mama for FDIS in March this year. I really appreciate FDIS Story Mama team’s support and encouragement to make my role meaningful to the kids and myself as well. I am rewarded more than the satisfaction I felt when being surrounded by so many lovely kids. More importantly, the discussion and sharing about life education and interaction with kids in class has enabled me to grow. I am one-step forward knowing how to communicate with kids respectfully and equally. We will continuously learn and share the value of life together. We will grow together!

第二次进班了,上一次是观摩,已经被小朋友们热烈的情绪所感染,这次做为助教,除了兴奋,心里更多的是紧张,生怕自己到时不能把故事的亮点带出来、又或者把控不好课堂氛围,让孩子们失望。然而,这所有的担心,在走进课室的一刹那,就被孩子们明亮的笑颜和欢快的话语消解了,一声声的招呼“故事妈妈好!”、“Harvey妈妈好!”立马让我们进入状况;简短的自我介绍后,开始进入讲故事环节和后面的讨论。孩子们的想法和反应都是积极而真诚,稚嫩的童声说出他们的心声。我们讲的主题是尊重自然环境和自然界的动物们,以及如何与他们和睦相处。讲故事的过程中,孩子们都说:“小动物被吓到了!”还有孩子补充,其实蜜蜂根本不想蛰人的,因为蛰人后,蜜蜂也会失去生命…在换位思考的同时,也体现了他们对生命的尊重。所以我想,其实很多时候,也许我们做的并不是要去教导孩子,而是尊重他们最真实的想法,其实他们小小的心灵里,一直都有着与生而来的对大自然的尊重与敬畏,我们所要做的,就是把这份心保护好,或者,从他们身上学习那些最本真的东西。

This is my second time entering into the classroom as story mom. Last time when I was here as an observer, I was already inspired by the children’s enthusiasm. This time, as a teaching assistant, I was more nervous than excited, being afraid that I could not bring out the highlights of the story or that I could not control the classroom atmosphere well. However, all these worries were dispelled by the bright smiles and cheerful words of the children as soon as I walked into the classroom: "Hello story mom!", “Hello, Harvey”. After a brief self-introduction, we started the story telling and the following discussions. The children's thoughts and reactions were positive and sincere, and their young voices expressed their true feelings. Our theme that day was about respecting the natural environment and animals in nature, and how to live in harmony with them. During the process of storytelling, the children all said: "The little animals are scared!" And some children added: “In fact, bees don't want to sting people at all, because after stinging people, they will lose their lives...” While thinking about others’ positions, it also reflects their respect for lives. So I think that most of the time, maybe what we need to do is not to teach children, but to respect their most real ideas. In fact, in their little minds, they have always been born with respect and awe for nature. What we have to do is to protect their warm hearts, or learn from them the most authentic things.
